New NCFL joining module delivers precision and efficiency – with longer stroke, shorter lead times, and local service tailored to China’s needs

Shanghai, July 2025 – Kistler expands its proven portfolio of electromechanical joining modules with a new product specifically developed to meet the requirements of the Chinese market. The new NCFL servo press builds on the well-established NCFE system and includes key technical enhancements such as a new motor and drive configuration, as well as an extended stroke of 400 mm.

Tailored technology for local needs

The NCFL module supports a wide range of industrial joining processes including press-fitting, caulking, riveting, and clinching – all with high precision and full process transparency. When combined with Kistler’s maXYmos NC process monitoring system, NCFL ensures real-time force-displacement control for 100 percent quality assurance and traceability. Compared to the similar NCFE, the new NCFL servo press has a longer stroke of 400 mm which meets the specific requirements from the China market for the new applications.

Thanks to its electromechanical drive, the NCFL system is significantly more energy-efficient than hydraulic or pneumatic alternatives – reducing both operating costs and environmental impact. According to a study by Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Germany, energy savings of up to 93 percent are possible, translating into annual CO₂ reductions of up to 2.6 metric tons per system.

Fast availability, reliable service, market-ready

To support customers in meeting tight project schedules and reducing downtime, special focus has been placed on short delivery times – made possible by local production and stock in China. The NCFL system is also backed by a dedicated local service team that ensures fast response, expert commissioning, calibration, and on-site support. The joining module is available in three sizes and four force ranges – 10, 20, 40, and 80 kN – making it suitable for diverse applications in the automotive, medical technology, and electronics industries.

A strong signal of commitment to the Chinese market

Kistler has been present in China since 1996 and now supports more than 1,500 active customers across four locations, including Shanghai, Beijing, and Xi’an. With approximately 150 employees and over 20 service engineers in the region, Kistler continues to strengthen its offering with advanced solutions that are closely aligned with local needs.

Alban Brisset, Chief Operating Officer of Kistler China, explains: “At Kistler, our vision is to pioneer dynamic measurement technology for an innovative, safe, and sustainable tomorrow. The NCFL joining system is a clear example of how we adapt our technology to meet market-specific demands while maintaining our high standards in performance and quality.”
